When I leave I tell them what time I will be back!
Serve him dinner before the rest of the family.
I heat my dogs canned food up in the microwave so it’s not cold from the fridge
Not really weird, but I make my little girl a steak dinner for her birthday. We share (1 day apart) our birthdays
Dance with my dogs! We have regular dance sessions.
I tell him exactly what he is having for dinner and prepared it. And after he eats it I tell him what a good boy he is! Yep, I am that crazy dog mom. Oh, and we recently adopted a new cat now he gets the same treatment. My pets are my babies always.
Well I’ve learned I can’t put him outside and be out of his site. He goes insane lol. So I’ll sit outside in the pouring rain at 4am if he needs to go out.
Sadly, I am only a dog Aunt now. Something I do in this capacity that I used to do with my own dogs is to keep up a running conversation during walks.
Every night I put on a movie so me and my dog can watch it whilst cuddled up together
I tuck my dogs in at night

July 1, 2024 in reply to: Who would look after your dog if something were to happen to you? #4207894I definitely have considered it. After I was diagnosed with cancer I decided not to get another dog for fear that it would outlive me. I hate not having a dog but it was a selfless decision.

July 1, 2024 in reply to: Who would look after your dog if something were to happen to you? #4207873Yes. I have instructed that if something should happen to me and my husband, our granddaughter is to take both my dog and cat. She is the one who I trust the most with them and will treat them with all the love and care we do.
July 1, 2024 in reply to: Who would look after your dog if something were to happen to you? #4207867I only have two now and a good friend will take them so I am fine with that. It was harder when my Mum passed and left her Jack Russell. Neither of my sisters could take him and I lived miles away and already had multi dogs of my own but thankfully Mum’s vet knew of an ideal home for Oscar and we saw him settled happily into his new home before we returned to our own lives. Had the vet not stepped in with the perfect home though Mum had told us he had to be euthanised when she passed as he was a rescue dog and she didn’t want him to be in that situation again. But thankfully all went well.

So my dog stayed with her family he loved it! She has a big fenced in yard a pool (he loves to swim) and other dogs.
