Armando is an Army veteran. In 2012 he adopted a curly-haired dog named Bruno through Pets for Patriots. Earlier this year Bruno passed away, and Armando felt terrible grief.

In time he was ready to adopt again and found Mallow – since renamed Serenity – through one of our Colorado shelter partners. While Bruno was Armando’s first pet following his separation from service and will always have a special place in his heart, his mood and outlook on life are both much improved since giving Serenity hope and a home.
