Imagine finding a dog that looks just like your favorite animal. That’s exactly what happened to Carly when she walked into a shelter and met Panda, a dog with unique markings that made him look like a panda. Little did she know, this was just the beginning of a heartwarming adventure that would soon bring another panda-like pup into her life.
Carly D’Eliseo moved to Texas in 2019 and decided it was the right time to get a dog. She met Panda at an adoption center and fell in love immediately. Panda had white fur with big black spots around his eyes, making him look like a panda bear. Carly has always loved pandas and felt like meeting Panda was meant to be. “It didn’t take me long to realize that I adopted my soul dog,” Carly shared on TikTok.
“We were meant to find each other in this lifetime.” A year and a half after adopting Panda, Carly found out about Dallas, a puppy at a local shelter who looked just like a younger version of Panda. Dallas had the same kind of markings around his eyes as Panda. Carly felt it was a sign that she should adopt Dallas too. “The universe sent us Dallas,” Carly wrote. “I … quickly realized that Dallas was made for us.” Panda and Dallas, though not related, both came from similar situations as strays and now live happily with Carly. They stick together all the time. Carly says they are always side by side and act as if they’ve always known each other. Dallas, in particular, doesn’t know life without Panda.
Panda and Dallas have become stars on social media, with over 30,000 followers on TikTok. Besides showing off Panda and Dallas, Carly also helps other dogs with similar markings find homes. Carly hopes their story will make more people want to adopt dogs from shelters. She told People magazine, “You can find your dream dog at a shelter if you just give them a chance. I want everyone to be able to feel the type of love you can receive from a rescue dog—there really isn’t anything like it!” These adorable, panda-like dogs have found a loving home with Carly, and it seems like it was all meant to happen. Their story shows how wonderful and rewarding rescuing a dog can be. Carly continues to support animal adoption, hoping others will also find joy in rescuing a pet.
