#5 – Tosa Inu
The Tosa was developed in Japan as a fighting dog, but luckily it’s future has taken on a different turn. While the entire country of Japan has still not outlawed the practice, the most populated areas prohibit it. The breed is living strong outside of its home country, but not without struggle. Due to its past, it is banned in 13 different countries. It was recently accepted by the American Kennel Club and we hope more responsible breeders will continue improving their temperaments and livelihood.
