Most people think that all Golden Retrievers look the same, but Rae is different. She was born with only one ear after an accident at birth left her without the other. It’s believed that her mother was playing too rough with her and emergency surgery had to be done in order to remove her ear.

As she grew, Brianna Aardema one of the people caring for Rae at Family Friends Veterinary Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan knew she wanted to raise her when she saw Rae. The moment she brought her home, looking like a unicorn pup left with only one ear that migrated to the top of her head!

Though Rae lost an ear, she thankfully can still hear out of the one remaining. This hasn’t stopped her from being a very energetic and happy Golden Retriever pup! In fact, people all over the world have fallen in love with her after seeing pictures of her ‘unicorn ear’ go viral.
