Greta and Archie’s bond was instant and undeniable. Their connection began in August at Sprockett’s Doggy Day Camp, where the two pups crossed paths for the first time. From that moment on, they became inseparable, delighting everyone with their playful antics and adorable companionship. “Whenever they were both in on the same day, they would play together, and then usually Greta would take a nap on top of Archie,” Theresa Mistelbacher, the owner of the daycare, shared with The Dodo. The bond between the two dogs was as heartwarming as it was unique.

When Archie, a young puppy at the time, joined the daycare, he was small enough to share the same section with Greta. Their days were filled with games, cuddles, and naps, strengthening their connection. But as Archie grew, he had to be moved to the “Big Dog” section in mid-November due to size regulations in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Though the move was necessary, it didn’t sit well with either of the furry best friends.

Even from separate sections, Archie and Greta found ways to stay close. Anytime they caught a glimpse of each other through the fence, their excitement was impossible to miss. “They would get very excited, so we would let them hang out beside each other,” Mistelbacher explained. Despite being separated by the daycare’s rules, the duo would press their noses through the fence and paw at one another, showing their affection in every way they could.

Though they couldn’t play freely like before, their love and connection never waned. Their determination to stay connected, even through barriers, touched the hearts of everyone at Sprockett’s Doggy Day Camp. Mistelbacher hopes that with permission from their families, Greta and Archie can occasionally reunite for playdates, allowing them to rekindle the playful moments they once enjoyed.

Luckily, a community member saw what was happening and alerted authorities. Their intervention may well have saved multiple animals' lives. Demand authorities ban this person from ever living with or owning animals again!

For now, Archie and Greta’s bond remains unshaken, proving that love knows no bounds—or size difference. Greta’s mom filmed the dogs playing beneath the fence and the result is oozing with cuteness. We thank her for posting the video to TikTok so we can all gush over their adorable relationship. One user, Unskinny_Bopp, hilariously commented, “[This is] the only episode of Love After Lockup I’ll watch.” Greta and Archie’s interaction is too cute to miss.
