What’s cuter than watching puppies experience new things? That’s right, nothing! So, when a group of Border Collie puppies learned to herd sheep for the first time, everyone was in awe. Their video quickly went viral because dog lovers around the world couldn’t get enough of the adorable scene.

They truly are the cutest little sheepherders. It might only be their first day of work, but they’ll all be stars soon enough. It’s amazing how dogs can act on instinct even at such a young age.

Exciting New Experiences

Certain breeds like Border Collies were originally bred for herding. Thus, they’re known for their high intelligence and energy levels. Even in a household setting, herding dogs often have a desire to run around and herd other animals. So, these dogs need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to keep them busy.

The six puppies in this video live on a farm with plenty of animals to herd. Like most young puppies, they were full of curiosity from the start. Most Border Collie puppies are cautious when they meet sheep for the first time, but luckily, their parents are usually around to guide them and show them what to do.

Yet, many herding dogs learn how to herd based on instinct. These puppies are only 7 weeks old, yet they seem to know what they’re doing from the start. If only all dogs could learn new tricks this easily!

Puppies Meet the Sheep

Someone captured an adorable video of the six puppies meeting sheep for the first time. It’s their first day on the job, but they already seem to be employees of the month. They chase after the sheep without hesitation. When a sheep tries to separate from the group, they chase them down too.

It’s clear that not all the puppies are equally as into it though. Some of them charge at lightning speeds while others trail behind and just follow the crowd. One poor puppy even gets trampled by a sheep, but he just gets up and keeps running. Not all of them can be the perfect herding dog, but their determination is incredible.

If the puppies are already this good, imagine how skilled they’ll be when they’re full grown! Instinct can only get you so far, but hard work and determination can take you all the way. It looks like some humans could learn a thing or two from these smart, adorable puppies.
