Our dogs mean the world to us. That is why we shower them with love and affection on a daily basis. But even with all the love in the world, accidents happen. When a dog named Ashley went missing, her family was heartbroken. They searched everywhere for their pup but came up empty. But they didn’t give up. The family registered with a lost and found advocacy program, hoping to be reunited with Ashley. But things continued to look bleak. Ashley was nowhere to be found.

Coincidentally, a dog fitting Ashley’s description was picked up as a stray and brought to a shelter. She was soon put up for adoption. The shelter posted her photo and information on its website. While one of the advocates was scrolling through social media, he came upon Ashley’s photo.

He immediately called her parents and gave them some hopeful news. While nothing was a guarantee, it was worthwhile to go meet the dog and see if she was their long-lost pup. The couple drove 240 miles to the shelter and walked to the dog’s kennel. The connection was immediate! The dog knew exactly who they were and vice versa: It was Ashley!

As they stood there, Ashley pawed at the plexiglass, begging for her family. Her dad said, “We need to get her out!” and someone went to get a staff member. The staff member rushed over and opened the door. The video states, “It’s been weeks since they last held each other,” but that was all about to change.

Shockingly, this is not the first time she has faced animal cruelty charges; she has a past conviction for similar crimes. We must ensure that no more animals suffer or die in her care!

Their tearful reunion is too incredible to miss. Scroll down to experience it for yourself. Please make sure you microchip your pet and keep their information updated if you move or change your phone number. We are so happy Ashley is back with her family!
