David and his family, full of excitement, moved into their new home. They unpacked and arranged everything to make it comfortable. They looked forward to filling the house with memories and good times to come. However, that afternoon, as David went downstairs into the dank basement, his heart broke.
He came face-to-face with a Pit Bull he had never seen before. The dog was fearful and confused. She looked like she hadn’t been cared for in a long time. She was thin and shaking; her body was a testament to the neglect she had been through.
“I just bought this house, found a Pit Bull in the basement. I don’t know how long she had been there,” David says in the video. He got on the phone and called for assistance from animal welfare. Time was of the essence to save the abandoned dog.
Natalie Thomson, the organization’s director, and her team arrived quickly. They approached the scared Pit Bull cautiously. They saw she was trembling, but as they got closer, they were met with a shock – her tail was wagging.
“She was so happy to see us; she was almost panting with happiness.” The volunteers gently approached the dog, who seemed to comprehend that the volunteers were there to help her. As they brought her upstairs, she showed them her gratitude.
The Pit Bull jumped up and down and ‘showered’ her new friends with hugs and kisses. They were marveled! She was holding up remarkably well for a dog who had been through so much trauma. Her previous owners had deserted her, leaving her to perish, but she didn’t hold a grudge against the human race.
“She’s absolutely adorable,” Natalie commented as her eyes welled up. “She loves everyone who meets her path and demands attention. She’s confident that she’s not being ignored.”
In the following days, the deserving pup, they named Daisy, found herself a forever home with David and his family, who believed this was all meant to be. The video states, “It was as if she knew that she had been given a second chance at life, and she cherished every moment of it.”
