As dog owners, we love our dogs so much that we want them to live healthy and comfortable lives. It breaks our hearts to see them in pain, so even if it costs us a lot, we give our dogs the proper veterinary care and medicine to heal the pain. After all, they are family. Which is why we can never understand the heartless people who abuse their dogs, harm them, and neglect them.
Earlier this year, a two-year-old dog named Gemma was found in Lapeer County, Michigan suffering from a brutal injury that her owner inflicted upon her–Gemma’s owner shot her head with an arrow.
Gemma was then brought to the Devoted Barn in Newport where her injuries were treated and where she was taken cared of. Melissa Borden of Devoted Barn says that Gemma is a friendly, happy dog and she had no issues whatsoever with people–which makes us wonder why on earth would her previous owner shoot her with an arrow?
Gemma overcame the horrific ordeal. This beautiful, forgiving, and resilient dog is now looking for a loving forever home.
