Hope For Paws, a rescue organization operating in Los Angeles, California. They received a call from Waste Management about a pit bull that had wandered into the recycling facility. Together, with the help of L.A. Animal Rescue, they went to work on a very dangerous rescue.
The scared dog had buried himself deep within the garbage, at the top of the heap.
Safety was an issue – how to get the scared dog out of the trash heap?
Waste Management stepped in and created a path using a backhoe so the rescue team could reach the dog.
When they approached, the scared dog tried to leave, crawling dangerously through the trash.
The dog ran and hid somewhere else in the plant.
The crew had to come back the next day and Waste Management helped this time with an excavator and a bulldozer to try and find the pitty.
Spotted again, they attempted to catch him once more. This time, he ran out of the plant and into an area they could secure.
After 30 minutes, they were able to catch him.
Thor, as he was named, received medical treatment and is now in a foster home while he waits for his forever family!
