Proud ‘Dog-Dad’ Luke adopted Franky from New Orleans after Hurricane Gustav devastated Louisiana. The little puppy was only six weeks old and, like so many animals that were displaced, needed a home immediately. Luke contacted some friends, and they coordinated the pup’s trip to Ohio. The moment little Franky was in Luke’s arms, they both knew that this was forever.
That was 15 years ago and the pair is still going strong! Franky is “deaf and arthritic,” but that doesn’t stop him from living life to the fullest! Franky was the driving force behind his brother Dino’s recovery. Dino was an incredibly anxious dog, and Franky knew just how to calm him down. Luke recorded a video for Father’s Day and discussed Dino and how he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Franky can be seen kissing his dad as he got emotional.
Luke filled their home with music because Franky adored it. Since becoming deaf, that’s changed, and it breaks his daddy’s heart. But they are still a happy little family, and that’s all that matters! To meet Franky and Luke, and witness their amazing relationship, check out the video below. As Luke states, Franky is a once in a lifetime dog!
