14-year-old Molly Birch was devastated when someone stole her seven-year-old Cocker Spaniel named Archie. Archie has been with the family since he was a puppy, so he and Molly have a special bond. Molly has cerebral palsy, which affects a person’s ability to move and balance. While Archie isn’t a service dog, he still supports Molly throughout her daily struggles.

In an effort to bring Archie home, Molly recorded an emotional video of herself begging for the dog’s return. Soon, her post gained popularity on Facebook, bringing the family closer to their missing canine.

Bring Archie Home

Archie was taken from the family’s home during a burglary in the middle of the night on Friday, April 8th, 2022. The North Yorkshire family had been by Archie’s side since he was a puppy, and Molly had helped train him. The family immediately shared missing dog posters across social media, but it was Molly’s heartfelt video that caught most people’s attention.

“Somebody stole Archie, and he will be very frightened, and I am very frightened too,” Molly said in the video. “He grew up with me since he was a puppy. I want him back home with me.”

The family created a Facebook group to share updates on the missing dog. Over 1,100 people joined the group and helped spread the word about the dog’s disappearance. Thanks to the help of other Facebook users, the family got closer to finding the lost dog. They also made posts encouraging the thief to do the right thing.

“The public [is] outraged about the cruelty of this theft from Molly, you will be tracked down. There is a heartbroken young girl at home waiting for his return,” Mandy Butler wrote in the Facebook group. “Archie is a great support to Molly, he helps her through her daily struggles due to her disabilities. Molly and Archie are inseparable and have a special, unbreakable bond. You have taken that away from them both.”

Together Again!

Molly’s family has since announced that Archie returned home on Easter weekend, and Molly is overjoyed to have him back. Of course, Archie seems ecstatic to be back with his humans too.

“I have never been so happy. It is like a missing piece of my puzzle has been put back in place, making our house a happy place again. Thank you everyone for helping get Archie back home, you have done amazing,” said Molly.

North Yorkshire Police state that the investigation is ongoing, so they are unable to share the details of Archie’s return at this time. While followers are curious to find out the full story, they’re happy to hear that Molly and Archie get to be with each other again!
