Why have a best man at your wedding when you can have a best dog instead? At her recent wedding, Sara Carson Devine proved that dogs can be just as valuable to a wedding party as humans can.

During her wedding reception, Sara’s first dance was unlike any other. She performed a dance to the song “Footloose,” but instead of dancing with the groom, she danced with Hero, her “Best Dog.” The video of their dance became viral not long after being posted, and it’s impossible not to smile while watching it.

Before this video, Sara and Hero were already well-known performers. They made an appearance on season 12 of America’s Got Talent, where they finished in 5th place. Despite being known as a critical judge, Simon Cowell was blown away by their talents and encouraged them throughout the show.

While on the show, Sara and Hero performed a variety of different acts together, including a pirate-themed audition and a beach-themed semi-final performance. While Hero was primarily the star of the show, Sara had some of her other dogs help out as well to add to the excitement as they neared the finale.

Sara currently works as a professional dog trainer, which she has been doing since she was 15 years old. When she was kid, she always wanted to train dogs for a living, but her family didn’t see it as a realistic career, which constantly brought her down and made her doubt herself.

At one point, she was about to give up on her dream, but then she came across Hero and it was love at first sight. She gave him his name because he brought her joy during a dark time. She wouldn’t be where she is today without him.

Hero and his siblings are referred to as “the Super Collies,” and they still perform from time to time. Sara also offers lessons to help other dog lovers train their furry friends.

The wedding where Sara and Hero performed their dance took place on June 15th, 2019 in Las Vegas. She married fellow dog trainer, John Devine, and the couple couldn’t be happier that they were able to get married with their dogs by their side.

Sara and John now work together to train dogs and help teach training to others through their company titled DevineK9s. Even though those around her didn’t believe in her dog training dream when she was young, Sara was able to make those dreams a reality, and that was all thanks to her “Best Dog,” Hero.
