While we may believe we choose the dogs who enter our lives, fate plays a bigger part than we imagine. Some dogs aren’t just waiting for homes; they’re waiting for that perfect person who will deeply connect with them and make them feel like they belong. In turn, they offer us the most beautiful and priceless things: unconditional love, loyalty, and unwavering commitment. It’s no wonder we love dogs as much as we do! This story is a prime example of fate having the upper hand. You’ll soon find out why.
Noah, a tiny Pit Bull pup and runt of the litter, was cast aside from the others. The breeder clearly thought he was unworthy of his time. Thankfully, Vivian’s husband arrived to change Noah’s fate. He was accompanying a friend who was interested in getting a dog when he noticed Noah tucked away from the other puppies. Curious, he asked about him, only for the breeder to dismissively call Noah a “reject.”
Despite the breeder’s attitude, Vivian’s husband couldn’t ignore Noah’s sweet face and knew he had to bring him home. He called Vivian with a surprise announcement: he was coming back with a new family member. Although initially uncertain about having a dog, especially with both of them being in the military, Vivian’s doubts vanished the moment she met Noah. His adorable face melted her heart instantly.
Over time, Noah proved to be more than just adorable. Vivian shared in the video below that Noah has a special intuition; he can sense when someone in the family needs comfort, and he’s always there to offer a soothing presence. She also joked that Noah can be hilariously judgmental. If he catches Vivian indulging in an extra snack, he’ll give her a stare that says, “Oh, really?” in his own way.
Two years later, the couple came across an online post about another Pit Bull in need of a home. They jumped at the chance to give Noah a brother. Vivian describes the pair as opposites—one calm, the other a whirlwind—but together, they’re endlessly entertaining.
When Vivian’s military duty took her to New Jersey, and her husband was stationed in South Carolina, the distance was tough. The separation was especially hard after she suffered an injury, but she credits Noah for helping her through those challenging days. His support was constant, a comforting reminder of home and family during difficult times.
If Vivian’s husband had never accompanied his friend to the breeder, Noah wouldn’t have ended up with his family. See, fate plays an intricate part in many adoption tales, just like this one, and we are so grateful that it did!
