When one man lost his dog Mika, he went into shock. Mika had been his constant companion through ups and downs and in-betweens. Her death left a gaping hole in his heart that would sadly ache every single day. Mika wasn’t just her dad’s cuddle buddy; she was his work companion who rode farm equipment with him. Her loss was a devastation, but comfort was soon on the way!
While a dog can never be replaced, a new fur-friend can bring joy and be a much-needed distraction after a pet has crossed over. The man’s family understood this and devised a plan. The video’s caption explains it best:
His daughter discovered a litter of puppies that were born on his birthday and felt it was a sign. She decided to keep it a secret for over two weeks. Then, she and her family took a road trip with her daughters to pick out a puppy. When the time came, his granddaughter delivered the new puppy to her Papa.
When the granddaughter makes her way over to her Papa holding the puppy in her arms, he asks ‘What is this?’ And she replies, ‘A puppy!’ She hands him the adorable bundle and he begins to weep. It was as if that pain from losing Mika he tried to bury, could now be freed because of this new precious life.
Now that the man has a new companion to share his time with, he will have many wonderful days to look forward to, along with lasting memories that will be engraved in his heart forever!
