Every dog parent claims to have the cutest rescue dog. The truth is, none of them are wrong! All rescue dogs are adorable in their own way, and their families can see that better than anyone else. So, People Magazine wants to recognize some of these rescue dogs in their annual World’s Cutest Rescue Dog Contest.

This is the third consecutive year that they’ve done this, and it has been a huge success so far. All you have to do is tell the world about your amazing rescue pup, and your dog could become a star!

What is the World’s Cutest Rescue Dog Contest?

This adorable contest is all about showing the world how great rescue dogs can be. From July 8th to August 10th, 2020, you can enter your dog into the contest. From there, People’s editors will choose 10 finalists. Readers will then vote for their favorites, narrowing it down to the top 3. On September 30th, 2020, the winner will be chosen.

The first winner of this contest was Penny, a one-eyed Golden Retriever. Kyra’s Rescue saved her from the streets of Turkey, where she had an abusive past. Soon, she was adopted by a kind family in Maryland, where she was given a second chance at life.

Last year’s winner was a Keeshond named Kasey. Kasey spent four years of her life in a puppy mill before being rescued by a family in New Jersey. They were very patient with her, and they eventually helped her see what a loving home is like.

Both of these dogs are adorable rescues with heartwarming transformations. They are just some of the many dogs who have been given a second chance at life. If your dog wins this contest, they could inspire others too!

How to Enter

All you have to do to enter is upload a photo of your dog. Also, you should share how you changed your dog’s life and how they changed yours. You can also give a shout-out to the rescue or shelter you adopted them from. All rescue dogs are welcome to enter, regardless of their age, breed, and size.

Once readers narrow down the finalists, a group of judges will work together to select the winner. The judges will be from People Magazine and the Pedigree brand. There will also be some celebrity judges, including Carrie Ann Inaba from Dancing with the Stars, singer Cassadee Pope, and Lara Spencer from Good Morning America.

  • A custom photoshoot.
  • A feature in People Magazine and on People.com.
  • A year’s supply of dog food from Pedigree.
  • A $1,000 donation to the dog rescue of your choice.

If your rescue dog was born to be a star, then you can visit People.com to enter the contest. Good luck to all the adorable rescue dogs out there!
