A neighbor came outside and was stunned when he saw a puppy thrown out like trash by his house. He called Stray Rescue of St. Louis and they came quickly. Donna, the lead rescuer, thanked the Good Samaritan, then wrapped the puppy in a blanket and held her tight. Can you imagine how scared she must have been? The poor, innocent life was dumped like she didn’t mean a thing. The man kept saying, “Live. Live.” understanding the puppy’s dire state. But her life was about to take a turn for the better, thanks to this kind man and rescuers.
From the moment Donna met the dog, she knew she wasn’t ok. She was weak and barely able to move. Once in the car, she stared deeply into Donna’s eyes with heartfelt gratitude. Donna was distraught. She couldn’t believe anyone could be this cruel. Donna drove her to the vet clinic, where staff treated the puppy right away.
They gave her water through a syringe and broth to eat. The puppy was barely able to lift her head, but when a kind worker gave her soup, she finally perked up enough to have some. This was a HUGE victory. Within a week, the puppy, now named Prayer, was able to go to the rescue center. Her turnaround was miraculous. The volunteers stood outside and clapped for Prayer as Donna carried her over.
Everyone showered the puppy with love and her heart filled with joy! She wasn’t used to receiving so much affection. The best part was that Prayer found a family in no time. The little warrior may have faced the unthinkable, but she got the best revenge by fighting to live.
What these dogs went through must have been terrifying and painful. That's why we're demanding true and complete justice for these pups and their family.
