Purple Murphy Would Have Died Had It Not Been For A Very Special Blind Dog

| February 29, 2016

Do you remember Poly the Blind Pit Bull? Back in October, 2015 Poly the Blind Pit Bull was found abandoned and terrified on a park bench in Santa Barbara. Her story went viral online and she became a very popular girl! A fundraiser was set up for Poly because she had a heart condition that required surgery – and she also needed expensive diagnostics for her eyes.

Due to the success for her fundraiser (partly because of Poly’s Facebook page which posts updates in Poly’s voice), Polysfund.org was created. A special fund for abused, neglected and abandoned dogs get them off the street, get medical care – and then get into rescue where they can start their new lives. PolysFund is helping dogs every single week.

Someone posted a Facebook photo of this dog living on the streets, pleading someone to help him. To say Purple Murphy was starving would be an understatement. He was just bones – covered in open wounds from other stray dogs attaching him. Not surprisingly, he could barely stand.

He was purple because a kind person had tried to help him by putting gentian violet on this wounds and building him a shelter. But he needed to get off the streets in order to survive.

Thanks to Poly’s Pawing it forward, Purple Murphy is alive today. Polysfund got Purple Murphy off the streets and into to the vet clinic. He was so weak, the vet was worried he would not survive.

But Murphy had a stronger will than anyone expected. And he began to get better.

Watch the entire heartfelt video of his rescue below, just be sure to have the tissues ready!

It’s incredible what people can do with just a little bit of paying it forward. Murphy has a chance at a happy, loving life, the kind every dog deserves. You can help Poly “paw it forward” by donating here.
