When Kristy Gamayo adopted Moki from San Francisco Animal Care and Control, the pup arrived in her new home to find that she was not Gamayo’s only furry friend.

The 5-month-old Pit Bull-type pooch was introduced to two Guinea Pig sisters, Frida and Pandora. Shockingly, the trio took to each other right away!

“Moki was really gentle with them from the beginning and the piggies were very curious about Moki,” Gamayo told The Dodo. “The piggies would crawl up to Moki and smell her and Moki would lick them and lay with them. To this day, Moki and the piggies cuddle together and Moki likes to give them kisses.”

It has been three years since Moki joined the family and she has grown ever closer with her piggie pals.

Being a Pibble, she never gets tired of giving kisses, so Gamayo supervises to ensure Frida and Pandora don’t accidentally drown in slobber!

“The piggies don’t mind the kisses and have never tried to bite Moki,” Gamayo said. “Frida and Pandora will sniff Moki and never try to run away.”

In addition to her bountiful kisses, Moki is also quite generous with her toys.

She will bring the pigs her bone or giant rubber Kong to ensure they aren’t left out of the fun. While Frida and Pandora are less than impressed with the items, they try to be polite for Moki’s sake.

“When Moki brings them her Nylabone or toys, they will sniff them and sometimes try to nibble on them,” Gamayo added.

When playtime is over, the unlikely friends love to curl up together on one of the beds for a cozy nap.

Moki is careful not to roll over on her delicate sisters.

Despite her obvious size advantage, Moki is by no means the “alpha dog.” Pandora has claimed that role. According to Gamayo, the sassy brown and white Guinea Pig was rescued from San Francisco’s Dolores Park where she’d presumably been abandoned by a previous owner.

But Gamayo wouldn’t change any of her three pets for the world!

They brighten up each day and even helped her recover from a difficult breakup.

“If I have a difficult day at work, I like to come home and lay with Moki and pet her, or just hold Frida and Pandora on my lap and pet them,” she said. “They really relax me and always make me laugh or smile … I love hearing their little noises, seeing their individual personalities, and watching them interact with Moki.”
