Russian Leader Stops Everything To Grant Underprivileged Girl’s Wish

Come Christmas time, many kids dream of all the things they hope to find under their tree. But for kids that aren’t so fortunate, sometimes those dreams are overshadowed by harsh realities. For children that grow up on a strict budget, sometimes their wishes won’t become a reality… but that doesn’t mean that they still don’t hope for miracles.

Olga Maruchshenko is a twelve-year-old girl living in a small town in Siberia, Russia, who dreamed of getting a “blue-eyed husky” this holiday season, but she knew that it was something that her parents could not afford. This is when she took a chance, and wrote a letter directly to Russian president Vladimir Putin, hoping that maybe, hopefully, he would grant her precious wish:

“My mom knows that I wrote to you, but she doesn’t believe that you will read my letter. Even so, I hope and I believe that you will read it,” Olga wrote.

Olga and her family are on a tight budget, and presents like a purebred Husky are simply not something that her parents could afford.
“I promise to take good care of the puppy because it’s my big dream – to own a husky. And I promise to study hard.”
Well, as luck may have it, Olga’s letter reached the president, and he ordered the head of the Republic of Khakassia (where the girl’s family lives) to grant the little girl’s wish with her very own blue-eyed Husky pup. And to make things even better, he was sure that Olga’s younger sister received a present as well.

For a world leader that seems so tough and feared by so many, it goes to show you that sometimes those with the thickest skin have a heart when it comes to animals and helping kid’s to know that dreams can, in fact, come true.
