Hope For Paws, a non-profit animal rescue in Los Angeles, California, received a call about a homeless Chihuahua – not an uncommon occurrence in the city where Chihuahuas are everywhere.
She barked at the rescuers at first…unsure about the camera crew and all the people suddenly taking an interest in her.
Kind neighbors had been feeding her – they said she had been living on the streets for several months.
Lisa Chiarellie, a volunteer with Hope For Paws, slowly gains her trust through food.
Once she is being petted, Jenny relaxes and appears to enjoy the attention. Lisa is able to leash her up and take her to the vet, where she would get a full check-up as well as a bath.
Jenny had a cherry eye, so she needed surgery before she was available for adoption.

Jenny’s surgery went beautifully. She is now ready for her forever home!
