The relationship between cats and dogs is complicated. As we fur parents know, there’s a delicate dance that goes on between the feline and canine kind. So when your cat and dog love each other and want to hang out together, you can expect some cute interspecies snuggling and play.
Golden retriever Harper and ginger cat Halo are two such fur siblings that deliver cuteness to their family. And lucky for us, the cat and dog duo’s dad captured one of their cute moments on camera. The clip is only nine seconds, but the laughs will be long when you see Harper “snuggling” Halo so thoroughly the kitty disappears from sight!
The Purrfect Hiding Spot
Nine-month-old Harper and eight-month-old Halo are a couple of fur kids happy to be growing up together. And sometimes Harper has so much love to give her feline brother; poor Halo winds up smothered in her furry love! And when Halo can’t be found, Dad knows just who to ask. Especially when Harper looks like she’s up to something…
And in the short clip seen more than 250k times, the furry pair’s dad shows what happens when you ask the golden puppy, “Harper, what are you doing?”
Harper pops her head up and reveals a hidden Halo!
“Oh my goodness,” says Dad, seeing the ginger cat beneath his big sister. “Poor kitty.”

And it’s not just Halo, and Harper bringing the laughs as commenters to the video also offered their comical insights, with one viewer writing, “I love how you can always tell when a dog is hiding something.”
“When you bring a stray animal home and try to hide it from your parents,” joked another.
Another commenter said, “’I can explain.’ –Harper, who most certainly could not explain”
One commenter found a resemblance to their own family, explaining, “That looks exactly like me and my siblings interacting.”
And, of course, there was the classic Looney Tunes line, “I will love him and squeeze him and name him George!”
Some viewers joked that Harper was trying to take out her kitty brother, one saying, “Well he was trying to become an only child again but you messed it up.”
“That’s the most sinister look I’ve ever seen on a dog.”
“’shhhhh… only dreams now.’ – Harper,” wrote one viewer.
Others weren’t sure if it was love or an assassination attempt!
“I can’t tell if they’re friends or if the dog’s holding the cat hostage.”
When Harper dips down to cover Halo again, one viewer points out, “Kitty tried to take one last gulp of air before going under again.”
And one viewer reminds us, “I’m sure the cat didn’t like it he wouldn’t stay there.”
