In Tijuana, Mexico, a woman started a shelter for over 200 dogs, doing her best to care for them. However, one dog named Sol caught the attention of a group of animal rescuers who visited the shelter. Sol was barely able to stand, leaning to one side, and his eyes were sealed shut. Despite his condition, Sol’s loving nature shone through, and the rescuers knew they had to help him.

The rescuers wanted to take Sol with them immediately, but they knew he needed urgent veterinary care first. A volunteer named Alex stepped up to foster Sol while he received treatment. The group took dogs back home with them, but Sol stayed in Tijuana for a week to receive the care he needed.

After a week, Sol was brought to Los Angeles, where he was reunited with the rescuers. He had received a bath and was now fluffy and clean. Alex and his wife Kelly were amazing fosters, providing Sol with the love and care he needed. Sol, who had likely not had a good night’s sleep in 16 years, found comfort in front of the air conditioning.

Sol’s first vet appointment in Los Angeles was not great, as he collapsed on the pavement. The rescuers were unsure of his future, but they decided to give him a week to see how he would do on medication. To their delight, Sol began to improve. His 16 years in Tijuana had made him a tough dog, and he was determined to heal.

As Sol continued to get better, the rescuers began the search for his perfect forever home. One of the rescuers wanted to keep Sol, but she knew he deserved someone who could be with him 24/7, as she was often away rescuing other dogs. That’s when her friend Molly saw Sol on Instagram and knew she had to have him.

Molly met Sol and immediately fell in love. The perfect dream came true, as Sol now lives just two blocks away from the rescuer who first found him. Sol’s new life is filled with love and happiness, and he continues to touch the hearts of everyone who meets him.
