When people walk past dogs in their yards, they often gush at how adorable they are. But sadly, breeds labeled as Pit Bulls, such as Staffordshire Bull Terriers, get mixed reactions when they play outside. Many dog lovers adore them, but some people look at them in fear or disgust because of hurtful breed stereotypes.
Tubs the Staffy is one of many Pit Bull type dogs trying to show the world that all dog breeds can be loving and sweet. So, Tubs’ human put up a sign in the yard to encourage neighbors to pet the friendly pup, and the results are adorable!
A Sign for a Friendly Dog
Tubs loves hanging out in the yard and watching neighbors walk by, but many people seemed reluctant to approach her because of her appearance. Even when she puts her paws on the fence and wags her tail like crazy, people are still hesitant to say hi. Tubs is such a good girl, so she couldn’t understand why many people didn’t want to play with her.
Tubs’ human made her a special sign to help her get the love she deserves. The colorful sign reads, “Tubs is friendly. She would love a gentle pat.” Her human set the sign up on the outdoor fence so people could see it as they walked past Tubs.

After setting the sign up, Tubs’ human watched to see how neighbors reacted. As suspected, many people were more eager to stop and pet Tubs now that they knew she was friendly. The results were heartwarming, so Tubs’ human decided to film some of the interactions and post them on social media.
Tubs Soaks up the Love!
In the videos posted on Tubs’ social media pages, the adorable pup can be seen standing on her hind legs while leaning against the fence. Whenever someone walks by, Tubs wags her tail like crazy. Many people glance at the sign and then pat Tubs on the head affectionately.
Many neighbors became fans of Tubs, and they regularly stop to pet her on their daily walks. A boy riding his bike is one of Tubs’ biggest admirers. He has even returned with some of his friends to give Tubs extra love. When one group of people stops petting her, she patiently waits for more to arrive.
Hopefully, Tubs’ videos help show the world that any breed can be friendly, so they should be given a chance. Many of the pup’s online followers joked that they wanted to travel to Australia just so they could pet Tubs. Seeing the happy look on Tubs’ face would be worth the trip!
