Are you looking for a dog that will traveled the world with you – from Paris to L.A.? From the Pacific Ocean to Mt. Everest?  Some dogs seem to love the open road and feel as home in an airport as they do on the couch.

#1 – Chihuahua

This breed is travel sized! They are the perfect traveling companion because they don’t take up much space, don’t eat a lot of food, and fit under the seat in an airline.

#2 – Pomeranian

This little dog seems quite at home in a purse or stroller, taking in the sights and getting adored. Bonus: he looks adorable in a beret and ascot.

#3 – Bichon Frise

This little jet-setter is happy-go-lucky and easily adjusts to new surroundings, making him a great traveling companion. In addition, she likes being the center of attention, so might all the new people.

#4 – Havanese

Another “travel sized” breed, the Havanese has an adventurous and outgoing personality perfect for world-travel. In addition, their non-shedding coat will make life in an RV or hotel a bit more manageable.

#5 – Dachshund

Many an RV park has a doxie, or two, or three. Easy to travel because of their size and minimal grooming (short-haired variety), they make a good watchdog for your motorhome too.

#6 – Boston Terrier

This feisty terrier likes to go out and about. She would do better on car trips, however, as flying can get tricky with brachycephalic breeds.

#7 – French Bulldog

Like the Boston, you have to be careful with airline travel, but otherwise the tenacious Frenchie is ready for anything: from motorcycling to riding the rails. They have a spunky personality and adjust quickly to new situations.

#8 – Labrador Retriever

Although they won’t fit under the seat of the airplane, they adjust easily to new people and sites, making them a great traveler. And, since they are so easy to train, it won’t be hard to get them used to different routines or rules at each stop.

#9 – Golden Retriever

Again, won’t fit under the plan seat. But, the golden is easy going, easy to train, and like to get out. She will be a loyal companion wherever you go, even to the tops of mountains.

#10 – Great Dane

Probably not the pick if you are a frequent flyer because of the expense, but their gentle disposition makes them a great RV dog. And, they can help you find all those rogue golf balls.
