A Special Puppy

I had always picked out all the animals that we had bought in our 42 years of marriage
or at least with the animals help. We drove all day, round trip, to get a new puppy. The lady had two sisters. I was looking and holding the one that caught me eye. My husband, who never said anything, said “let me see that little one on the floor. I looked at him and asked if he was sure he wanted to see her. He told me yes, so I picked her up and handed her to him and she reached as far as she could and gave him a big kiss on the cheek. That did it. He told me “THIS is the right one”. I could hardly believe what I was hearing. So she was the RIGHT one. We got her home and watched her for a few day and decided her name should be “Prissi”. My husband found out something that this old country girl had known alll her life, he now knew what animal love was all about. He could hardly leave her to go shopping or church. He was with her all the time. Then he had a stroke and within a year he passed away. BUT he had know the love of a little five pound dog that stole his heart. I am so happy that he found out what I had known all my life. Now it’s just the two of us and we are together almost all the time. She goes most places with me. I love my Pirssi.
