My sweet Piper seems to have gotten a ball on her ear that hasn’t changed in 5 days. It was bleeding the day I noticed it but I think it was because she was scratching it. It doesn’t seem to hurt her but it worries this first time boxer mommy!

My Cooper had a growth on his head that looked similar. It would grow and bleed every few weeks. Turned out to be a tumour which had to be removed… biopsy came back as cancer. We had him on immune system boosters for 2 month after and at his next check up, he got a clean bill of health. You should have your vet take a look.

Some boxers are prone to tumors, my boy Toby has skin tags. He has two removed and has another small one growing now, also in the summer he gets rough spots on the top of his feet. But during your vet check up make sure to point it out and get it tested.

It is probably a mast cell cyst/tumor. Boxers are really prone to them. Bring your dog to the vet. They will sample some cells to see if it is cancerous or not. Most of the time they are benign. My Boxer just had one removed in March, it was stage 2, but they got it all so hopefully it wont reoccur. I just have to be super vigilant to bring her to the vet if any other “bumps” pop up to make sure they are not cancerous.

I just had 2 removed from my senior Boxer like that last week. They are cysts. For some reason. They’ve appeared every time she has hit herself really hard on something. The vet stuck a needle in them and blood came out… both cysts. She said if they were hard and nothing came out… then its time to biopsy. While she was home recovering from those 2 being removed, she took a spill (she has 3 legs) and her booty hit the edge of the concrete porch… another cyst came.. it was pretty quick to form. I’m not removing anymore. I am glad I removed the one from her paw bc it was bothering her bc she puts extra weight on the 3 paws she has left but if it’s not absolutely necessary, I won’t have them remove anymore. 😉

PS…… let me say tho… I’d have the vet check them like we did just to be sure so you can rest easy.
