I’ve got a purebred Samoyed. During and right after exercise (3+ mile runs), he presents blood in his urine. Ordinary elimination of waste appears normal. Activity, appetite, and disposition (ie, relentlessly cheerful) are unchanged. Any thoughts?
Please take your pet dog and get either an X-ray or better yet an ultrasound of his bladder. He may have bladder stones or worse he could have a mass in his bladder due to early stages of cancer. Trust my opinion because I have been in this situation only to lose my 14 yr old dog who had the same symptoms. ….. Best of luck to you and your beloved pet dog , …. Jim English
I went to the vet bearing urine samples, both ordinary and (post-cardio) bloody. Tests on those didn’t shed any new light. An X-ray revealed bladder stones for the big guy. He had his surgery Thursday (about 48 hours ago). He should be back pounding the pavement with me in a couple of weeks. Thanks for your input and concern.
