Choking on Food

Our yorkie puppy, seems to keep chocking on his food. We got him Purina Puppy Chow. Majority of the times hes fine, but will randomly seem to get food stuck & start howling – thankfully we’ve been home both times its happened. I try to help him by patting his back. Should we be worried? Also, last night, he fussed so much to get out of gated area, that he threw up after the fact. It just seemed to be stomach bile.
