I live in San Antonio Texas. My 7 year old yorkie was just diagnosed with a collapsed trachea. He is not in distress and can breathe fine as long as he is calm and not vigorous. He is getting He is getting nebulizer treatments twice a day for a month and then re-evaluate his condition and determine if he needs a stent. They are quoting me a price tag of 6K for a none surgical procedure. If that’s what it takes I’ll spend the money, he’s my baby. I’m reaching out for other people’s opinions and experience with this situation. Any recommendations or experience with other modalities of treatment that have been successful as well as Vet clinic in San Antonio will be greatly appreciated. I understand that if the stent placement required surgery I would not question 6K, after all, when he was mauled by a Pit bull a few years ago he stayed in Intensive care unit for 4 days and had other procedures and I didn’t even get close to 4K on the expense so I’m slightly baffled right now. Thank you for any help or recommendations.

Hello. I am sorry to hear about your dog. I am in the same situation. While researching, I came across your post. I was advised a stent was the only option. Did you end up doing the surgery? If so, can you advise how your dog is doing. I hope all is well.
