I don’t know what I had done wrong, but my new litter of puppies and I were taken to the dog pound. We were put in with the small dogs, but I am a big dog (I just have short legs as I’ve been told I’m part doxie). It was so loud and noisy! My puppies were slowly taken away as they found new homes, I was left behind. A month goes by and I’ve seen so many dogs come and go, and I was still there. Some people petted me, but nobody wanted me. One Saturday afternoon, these two girls walked into the room. They petted all of the barking dogs, but I just sat there quietly hoping they would pet me too. They did! They seemed super nice, but left. Some time later, they came back! With a leash! For me! They took me outside and we enjoyed a nice walk. There were so many new smells that I hadn’t smelled in so long. I think I took them everywhere. One of the girls took me near some cats, as I guess she had cats and wanted to see what I would do. Well, they were ok. I just sat down and watched them. The girls sat there with me. One started talking on a phone to see if a man named Clint would be able to help take a kennel up to some place called Mattawa. One of the girls got the biggest smile or her face when he said yes. They started talking quickly and started talking about names! They decided on Emmma! I was going home! I’ve been here for 4 years and it is pretty nice.
