Hi! My name is Jonah. I’m pretty sure my First Mom and First Dad loved me, but they had way too many of us and they were hoarders as well. At 15 years of age I was handed over to a local no-kill shelter. I was very sick. I had to take naps to have my infected eyes and face shaved, and again so all my rotten, painful teeth could be pulled. My Forever Mom offered to foster me – she’d had nine shih tzu before me – and did not care I was deaf, toothless, and mostly blind, with a heart murmur (early congestive heart failure). She made me her own. I had an eye go bad and Forever Mom made it ok; I have one eye now but I see really good with it! Forever Mom’s love for me for me is just as deep as it would be for a puppy.
