I just bought a 3 year old Yorkie who has been fed nothing but cooked chicken. She completely refuses to eat dog food and I’m continuing to feed her chicken while trying to introduce new foods. How would you suggest I go about getting her on a well-balanced diet? I bought a multi vitamin to try and get her healthy, she’s very thin right now. I’m taking her to get her shots this week, she’s had them but they’re not up to date at this point. She seems healthy except for her weight, is there a particular supplement you can recommend or is a vitamin sufficient for now?

Hi,
When I bought my Yorkie puppy, he had been fed scraps from the table and I went through every type of dog food on the market and I too ended up cooking him fresh chicken with carrots and rice, however – even this he would still turn his nose up at it most days!
I then googled for homemade dog food and found this guy on Youtube who had made his own meatloaf for his dogs. It is a bit of a messy business making it, but boy does my Yorkie Ronnie love it – it is worth a try and you don’t need to feed biscuits as it is totally balanced. The only difference when I made it, I added more minced beef and some minced lamb. Ronnie now eats every meal and never turns his nose up at it.
If you would like to have a go, here is the link to video:

Good luck and I hope this helps you.

Did you take your baby to Vet to make sure there wasn’t any health issue for the chicken being given as the only source of diet.
