      Hello, Jose.
I realize your post is 2 days old and you likely have seen a vet by now but…
I had an 8 y-o German Shepherd once who had this problem – seemingly overnight. His diagnosis was spinal neuropathy. It has nothing to do with joint health but rather has to do with the nerves and the spinal cord. We had to euthanize him because buying him a doggy wheelchair was not a viable option for us.
I hope you get better prognosis.

      Hi,

I don’t know if you have got a diagnosis yet but depending on what it is hydrotherapy may help. At the very least it can help build the leg muscle to upto help support him.

I have one girl with hip dysplasia and it worked wonders for her and keeps her muscle for deterating which helps stabilises her. I also have a mal that lose use of both back legs for a spanial strokes and she has almost full use in both her legs now.

Good luck and hope her gets stronger

Is this a long term deterioration or did it just happen? We had a big boxer who had bad knee joints so struggled to jump into the car or go up and down stairs. We used glucosamine from the vet (not sure if that did anything) and also Science Diet’s vet level joint food. It’s expensive, but it did a wonderful job of helping reduce the pain in his joints, so much so that he was able to jump into the car again. Good luck!!

“My dog was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and the first sign was lack of strength and stiffness. It’s important to treat this correctly otherwise it often will progress into arthritis later on, causing more pain and problems for your pup. I did a lot of research and read up that using a dog hip brace can be helpful for increasing circulation, stability, and ultimately reducing pain and discomfort. I found this Ortocanis dog hip brace from their online store, and it was just what we needed. It’s a flexible material so it’s not too restrictive, but it seems to do the trick especially on days where my dog is noticeably more uncomfortable.

hi might be hip dysplasia or ACL, its better to go to your vet sooner than later.
