We were told to buy this golden retriever from a breeder, which we did, then take him to training classes in our area (done) and when he is old enough take him to training to become a service dog in Madison, Wi.
Buddy (our dog) is 7 months old and quite a handful!! I am not sure if now is the time to bring him to training. Is there anyone who could mentor me and help me with Buddy until he is old and mature enough to go to the autism training?
I have no idea if 7 months is old enough because he sure is all puppy yet.
I thank anyone in advance that can give me advise, help mentor or give me a name of someone I could keep in contact with.

Why is he handful? What specifically is Buddy doing?

Check out your local pet stores! I’m a petco employee and we have all sorts of dog training classes and package deals.
I’d honestly suggest just checking around your area see what your options are and keep buddy in training until he’s mature enough to get the direct service training. Make sure you keep working with him and things should approve. As far as more advanced training goes most service dogs are 1 year to 18 months old when they enter training and 2 years old when they graduate.
I do have experience with service dogs, my collie is registered, but requirements differ depending on your area.
Best of luck to you and your son! Hope this helps!
