My name is Max and that smile on my face—it’s an everyday thing! I am a Shih Tzu mix and my mom rescued me as a puppy because the lady who had me was a backyard breeder. My doggy mom was so tired she couldn’t feed me and my sisters so I was existing mostly on dog feces and a bone bigger than my body. But I am such a happy boy that I tore that bone apart cuz I’m the man (every time I go big potty outside my mom says that to me and I do a special man-dance for her cuz I love to make her laugh)!! I was so sick when my mom got me home I collapsed after going potty and couldn’t get myself up again no matter how I tried. Luckily, my mom had the help of a vet when she got me home and knew to give me karo syrup. I had medicine and passed a worm so big my mom cried but I was happy he was gone! I used to throw up every day and have seizures but my mom worked hard and figured out the right diet with supplements and now I don’t throw up at all and only have a few seizures a year now–I always get through them fine! I am terrified of any loud sounds but I love to go bye-bye. My mom says I am living proof that animals DO have emotions because I give human hugs, I smile every time I get to go bye-bye and when she makes my favorite treat of green beans and because when I was hiding and shaking during a thunder storm but got excited when she got my carrier out to go someplace, I jumped into it but before she could zip it up, I ran back out to go get my baby and took baby into the carrier with me so I could still go bye-bye and deal with the scary thunder. My mom says I saved her life and healed her soul. All I know is that my mom loves me and we Complete Each Other 😉 !!
