My name is Toby. Last week, I left Texas on a trailer with 35 other dogs. It was scary, but I was a really good boy. After a couple days, I got off the trailer and a woman and a kid took me and put me in their car… and then we drove MORE. When I got out of the car in Pittsburgh, a man and woman were waiting for me. They scooped me up and took me into their back yard. I had so much fun sniffing around and I started rolling around in the cool grass. The people gave me belly rubs and started calling me “Toby.” It was the best. Then, one by one, my people went into the house and brought out other dogs for me to meet. I liked each of them so much that I gave them each kisses and invited them to play with me in my new yard. THEN, my new doggie friends ran up the steps and into a house. I never went up so many steps before, but I made it to the top and went inside. I couldn’t believe my eyes! There were beds, and couches, and food, and wow,all the TOYS!!! I couldn’t sit still, there were too many places to explore. I knew that this must be what “home” is like. I’ve been in my home for one week now, and I am such a happy boy. My new sisters and brother don’t want to take turns playing with me… so, I’m always the center of everyone’s attention. My big brother Sammy is a therapy dog (his story is on this website too), and Sammy thinks that I am the perfect brother to go with him on his therapy visits. Sammy is teaching me everything he knows so that I can become a therapy dog soon. I can’t wait for everything! I love my new life!
