My dog is two years old and is not leash trained. How do I go about training her to walk on a leash. When I put it on her she flips outs like a wild horse.

I’ve had great experiences with harnesses. To be completely honest, I don’t know why but dogs respond better to a leash when on a harness. Just recently my year old Cane Corso has had great success with front clip harness and leash. He doesn’t pull me down the street anymore and it’s amazing. I purchased his harness on Amazon for about $20. Good luck!

My dog, who is now 3 years old, was trained to walk on a Gentle Leader, recommended to me by the trainer during her early behavioral training classes. This is still the best method for taking her on her daily walks, etc. If I have her on just a regular leash, she tends to jump, pull, try to run, etc. Many people think the gentle leader is to keep her from biting at people, but she has never had that issue. She is very well behaved wearing her Gentle Leader. I tried a body harness for her at one point, but that didn’t work as well for us.
