We have a 7 year old Doxie who in the past couple of weeks has lost his energy. The Vet doesn’t see any problem in his back or any other functions. He doesn’t like to walk far and is happy just to lay in his bed and rest. She gave him a med called Metacam. It’s a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

      Hello Sharon,
my name is Jim, I just joined this site and read your post. How is your doxie doing now? I have owned many doxies’ male and female over 20 years. Many of them have had medical issues, including
what you said about your animal. I love all mine and now have 3. The oldest I got in 1996 and she is still hanging on. I lost a 12 yo female to Chromns’ Disease. I steroids helped for a long time. I’d like to know if they figured out why you dog is slowing down at 7.
      Thanks’
      Jimmy
