I’ve got a four y/o Gsd that has a yeast infection that the vet just wants to put her on antibiotics for. I’ve tried the grain free diet with omega and fish dog food but it keeps coming back. I figure a dog just like humans will build up a resistance to antibiotics so I only give them to her when it really flares up, like right now. We bath her wit ha special shampoo but that doesn’t seem to help that much and she gets brushed regularly which she loves. I’m worried about her chewing constantly and she stops when told but then at night when we sleep she goes right back to it. Any advice would be great.

I had a girl Kelly that had a similar skin condition along with gas and diarrhea.
Her problem was grain, but she also got yeast infections.
After the antibiotics cleared the yeast infection,
I changed her food to grain free with fish oil/omegas that had cranberries and I added coconut oil.
(Cranberries work well for women that get yeast infections)
Both of her problems cleared up and she never got another yeast infection and her fur was shiny and her dry skin was gone.
Is your girl allergic to anything?
That may be part of the skin problem.
Hope this helps.

I have a 5 year old white GSD. Her skin is pink and it would turn almost bright red with soars from her constant scratching and licking. She is allergic to what appears to be everything. Every 2 months or so we would end up at the vet with antibiotics, steroids, antihistamines, and a special shampoo to bathe her with. I tried supplements, changed her food several times, trying everything from grain free, to just wild Alaskan Salmon, no treats, but nothing seemed to work. Finally, I found the right food. I started feeding her Science Diet Large Breed Lamb and Rice and thank God all mighty she is healed!! Keep in mind I don’t feed her any treats because I’m afraid of another severe allergic reaction. I only feed her Greenies to help maintain her dental hygiene and so far, so good.
Not sure if you’ve tried it already, but if you’re as desperate as I was, it’s worth a shot. Good Luck!Attachments:
