Poop eating….eek!

      Hello fellow Daxy-lovers,

My 12yr old eats poop and I am looking for reasons why and tips on how to discourage this behaviour.

So far I have managed to train him to ‘leave it’ in exchange for a biscuit, BUT, if I am not around to see him ‘go’i.e. last thing at night, he’ll just turn right around and tuck in (so sorry if anyone is reading this eating their lunch!).

Someone suggested various natural supplements with grated pineapple and courgette. We did this for 3 weeks but it made no difference.

I know there is something prescribed by vets which discourages it, but does anyone have any other ideas or natural cures they have tried?

Lots of love to you and your daxy/s,

      Louise

PS. Ted the poopy-eater having his beard washed and teeth cleaned, then breath spray and deo spray! (That’s a clean towel he’s on re: the fruit basket behind, lol!) His head hangs over the sink then I have to disinfect the sink and bleach it and dog cloths…phew!
