      Here goes,

Sookie my 3 year old is beautiful. Full coat. Just weighs 16 lbs. She has a very large rib cage. She is thick so 2 lbs off if going to be good.

Sophie is 10 lbs with tear stain. Only having this issue for 6 months.

Maddie is short hair with no tear stain. 11 lbs.

They were on blue buffalo. Doc switched us to Hills Science Diet Prescription Metabolic. Sook basically fluctuates between 15 and 16 lbs no matter what. Treats are minimal.

Soph started the tear stain with the food. Now her saliva her hair orange on her paws and urine causes the hair to turn orange so she is very in minerals.

Doc now switched to Royal Canin PW Moderate weight. Haven’t bought it yet.

Royal Canin also says to try mini Weight Care.

So at this point, not sure which way to go. On a side note, when we switched to the HIlls Prescription, happily, I did not have to wash amymore poopie off the long haired girls. Sorry if that’s too much info.

Suggestions would be helpful. Main goal is weight loss for Sook and getting rid of tear stain for Soph. They will eat the same food. Never worked separating food.

Picture is Sophie before the Hills and second pic if after Hills 6 months of using it.

We brought Hayzee home when she was 3 months old. She came to us on Iams, and we kept her on that. Approximately we tried Bil Jac for a while at the advice of a friend after our Vet told us she may have allergies, and our friend had a soft wheaton terrier who also had allergies but did well with Bil Jac. Hayzee continued to have troubles, so we bit the bullet and spent the large amount of money to have her blood tested for allergies. Come to find out there wasn’t much she wasn’t allergic to. The Vet put her on Science Diet z/d and allergy shots. She was doing better, I gave her the shots at home. Her visits to the Vet minimized, but unfortunately, she was allergic to our grass, and a couple cedar trees in our yard (we rent) so we did what we could to steer clear from them. Eventually it seemed as though the $300 every 6 months of allergy serum wasn’t doing the trick as well, so we stopped them and did only the z/d. We switched Bentlee to the z/d soft so if she somehow got into it, she wouldn’t have problems. We have not had any tear stain problems at all, we keep her eyes clean, if we notice any build up of gunk we get it right out, of course she hates it when we pick at her, but thankful we haven’t had that problem. She stays around 6 1/2 pounds. We do not give her any human food, and with the soft canned z/d, we have a mini muffin pan and we bake the soft food into treats. It is definitely frustrating to have a dog that is so allergic to everything, but I suggest the z/d highly. I do believe that is part of the tear staining as well because her sister from the same litter has tear staining and she eats some other food, she doesn’t have allergies for some odd reason. We don’t measure her food, we used to let her graze, but recently rescued a Japanese chin, and he is on Science diet for puppies, so in order to keep her from getting that or any cross contamination, they are fed in separate rooms, separate bowls, etc. She’s not had any major weight fluctuations. And she doesn’t go outside except to do her duties. Wish you all the best, and pray for your sweet fur kid to get better!
