      I just got a lump on my 5yr old girl checked and it came back as a round cell tumor. She’s scheduled for surgery this week and once the tests come back we’ll know which strain. Has anyone else gone through this? I’m trying to keep calm but it’s so hard not knowing what’s coming…treatment, life expectancy etc. Any input would be great!

      Hi. My 10 year old Boxer had surgery for a very large mast cell tumor, it was the size of an orange, I was so scared but he came thru the surgery fine, healed well and is a new dog. The results came back as a grade 1 mast cell, the vet says old age will get him before the cancer does, hope that gives you some peace of mind, I have to keep an eye on any lumps or bumps, he does have a couple, but nothing for the vets to be concerned about At this stage. He is turning 11 in December so I’m grateful to have him still. Hope all goes well with your baby’s surgery.

      @Boxermad
      Thanks, that does give me peace of mind. Our vet discovered she has a clotting issue so he had to do a second surgery to tie off some bleeders. No arteries or anything too serious, she just wouldn’t atop bleeding. 21 staples later, she’s home and getting more love than she knows what to do with. I’m hoping my girl gets 11 years! Thanks again.
