Our pup gets super upset when we leave the house. He shakes and cries or hides. We have worked with training (no attention until he sits) and are trying Prozac but I would prefer a natural treatment. Any suggestions?

I have an Jack Russell with a similar issue. He gets very upset when I leave for work in the morning. He shivers & hides in the bathtub. I started giving him some natural pills I found at the vet’s office. Its called Anxitane and it’s an l-theanine supplement. It has actually helped alot. He doesn’t shake or try to hide anymore. It is very distressing to try to leave when he is so upset.

Hey there,
I have two toy poodles, I got my little girl over separation anxiety by getting her a brother! They now have each other when I’m not home.
They do sometimes still have days where they show signs of anxiety, so I give them each 2 drops of a product called rescue remedy which helps calm them.
I also give them a treat each time I leave the house, get them excited over that to distract from the fact that Mummy is about to head out the door!
I hope this helps, your little one sure is a cutie! 😃🐩 -

Rescue Remedy is a wonderful product and it has helped my Baby a lot. My vet recommend it to me and I found at a health food store. I recently found it on Amazon and ordered a new supply. Try it you will be surpised.
