My Sheltie is 8 years old, and needs to lose weight. I am currently feeding him a weight-control food by Nutro supplemented by carrots and no-salt green beans. I feed him 2/3 – 3/4 cup in the AM and 1 cup in the PM. I am not an active person, so that makes Rambo inactive also. I am limiting treats and people food; however, you know shelties… eat is their middle name.
Any suggestions for me? Thank you!

You need to reduce his portions. He should be getting around a cup a day between his two meals. You’re overfeeding him.
