I’ve had 6 dogs to date, all different. When my Shep/Pit mix passed away last February we decided we would wait until summer before considering getting another dog (we also had an older female Pit-bull). We got a male Weimaraner pup from a breeder, he was at first not receptive to our other dog and my wife, after about 45 minutes he accepted the older dog. Although he instantly took to my 17 year old son & myself, he didn’t at first accept my wife, we jokingly called him the male chauvinist. Not much time passed and now he’s attached to all of us in his own way. Like most Weimaraners, he isn’t to friendly to new people but will warm up to them if they are a regular at our home. He’s even accepted our Guinea Pig who lives in the basement.
