Noodle, a lovable stray, found himself in such a dire situation in a Detroit shelter. Afflicted with a degenerative brain condition that caused him to lose consciousness and struggle with stability, he faced an uncertain future. His medical issues, coupled with a lack of interest from potential adopters, led to the heartbreaking decision to schedule his euthanasia.
Disturbed by the news of Noodle’s impending fate, Tiffany Perkins, founder of PAWS Friend Network, became determined to change his destiny. Her organization supports paraplegic, amputee, wheelchair-bound, and senior dogs, providing them with a sanctuary and hospice care. Overcome with concern for Noodle, she resolved to rescue him before it was too late.
Once Noodle was safely in Tiffany’s home, their bond formed instantly. Noodle’s affectionate demeanor made it clear he was a perfect fit for her family. While uncertain if he would be a hospice case, Tiffany committed to giving him the fullest life possible.
Noodle and Tiffany’s other dog, Luke, quickly became inseparable, offering each other comfort and companionship. Noodle’s health was fragile, and Tiffany took great care to manage his diet and environment to avoid any triggers that could cause his condition to worsen. She even adjusted her home to make it more accessible for him, ensuring he could enjoy simple pleasures like gazing out the window without difficulty.

“Noodle is such a comfort to me personally… His timing and coming here was so perfect. We were grieving the loss of our previous dog and he really helped heal us through that process. And I think it’s because he’s just so kind and so sweet and just such a big teddy bear,” reflected Tiffany.
