#5 – Lean Meats
All lean meats are safe for dogs to eat. After all, that’s the base of their own food! Make sure that you give plain boiled or cooked meats with no special seasonings, as those can upset your dog’s tummy. Excessive fat is not only unhealthy, it can also cause diarrhea, so skip the bacon! Most importantly, remember only to give your dog boneless meat. Cooked bones are very dangerous, as they can be choked on, cause intestinal blockages, and even splinter and pierce holes in the digestive tract.
#6 – Peanut Butter
A dog’s favorite treat! Peanut butter is high in protein and is an excellent filler for many of the popular chew toys today. Not only is it healthy, it keeps our pups busy for a while since it takes so long to eat!
#7 – Pumpkin
Pumpkin is an excellent treat for dogs, and can even be added to meals regularly due to it’s ability to calm the digestive tract. Pumpkin is full of fiber and promotes healing and regularity for both dogs with constipation or diarrhea. Make sure only to feed plain pumpkin, NOT pumpkin pie filling that’s full of sugar and will make your dog sick!
