#8 – Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes, like pumpkin, are a digestive aid that keeps your dog regular and healthy. You can add plain, cooked or canned sweet potatoes to your dog’s meal daily, if needed. You can even dehydrate them for a chewy, delicious treat!
#9 – Tuna
Canned tuna given in moderation is perfectly safe for your dog. Make sure it’s tuna in water, not oil, and preferably with no salt added. Also make sure to give it to your pup before you add everything else in for your tuna salad. Don’t feel like sharing the fish? You can also pour the tuna juice over your dog’s food for some extra flavor.
#10 – Yogurt
Plain yogurt, with no artificial sweeteners or added sugar, is a great source of calcium and probiotics for dogs. You can also add yogurt to your dog’s meal regularly to maintain a healthy digestive tract, and make sure to choose a yogurt with live active cultures for this. Be aware that some dogs don’t do well with dairy, so while this might be a tasty treat that benefits some, it could cause an upset tummy for your pup.
